Mr. William Thad Lumpkin, (affectionately known as Mr. Bill or “Hi-pockets” by his beloved friends) of McColl, S.C. graduated to his eternal home on Feb. 16, 2013.

Because he had acknowledged Jesus Christ as his Savior, we are confident that he has taken up residence in his heavenly home.

John 14: 2-3 In My Father’s house there are many mansions…. I go to prepare a place for you.

Christ has extended the same invitation for all to join Him there at their appointed time. The only requirement for our citizenship in Heaven is found in God’s inspired Word for us – the Holy Bible.

Romans 10: 9-10 If you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Bill, a WWII Navy veteran, was born on April 5, 1926 in Rome, Ga., the son of T.M. Lumpkin and Battie Lumpkin. He retired from Brown Distributing Company in Atlanta, Ga. He was an avid golfer and world traveler.

His wife Sybil Adams and daughter Jean preceded him in death. He leaves behind daughters Gail Lyle (David) of Rougemont and Joan Mastrangeli of Suglarland, Texas. Also left behind are seven grandchildren: Mark (Kim), Scott, and Jill Mastrangeli and Lindsay, Alex, Lauren, and John Scott Lyle and and great-granddaughter Olivia Mastrangeli.

Visitation with the family will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at Richard Boles Funeral Service in Laurinburg.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. at Gibson United Methodist Church, 13241 McLaurin Street in Gibson. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Gibson.

The family requests that any donations be made to: Medical Teams International P.O. Box 10, Portland Oregon, 97207 1-800-959-4325.

Services entrusted to Richard Boles Funeral Service.

We miss u so much Daddy!

Thank you for being a man of honesty and integrity. We always knew how much you loved us. You had your struggles just as we all do in our flesh, but I am happy that for you, your struggle is over. Say hi to Mom, Jean, and all the rest of the family. I look forward to our reunion.

Love, "your brat".

Joanie
