Teen allegedly impersonated police officer

A Laurinburg teen has been accused of impersonating a police officer by the Scotland County Sheriff's Office.

Joseph Brian Clark, 18, is charged with impersonating a police officer.

Clark, of Liberty Circle in Laurinburg, was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Two accused as "deadbeat" dads

Prentice L. Bethea, of Hickory Street in Laurinburg, was arrested Monday for allegedly missing a court hearing associated with his child support payments, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Bethea allegedly owes nearly $9,000 in child support.

James Seals, 31, of Bunch Street in Laurel Hill was arrested Tuesday, also for missing a court appearance associated with paying child support, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Seals allegedly owes $6,561 in child support.
