Margaret Harding holds a display of handmade jeweled bracelets designed by church member Dinah Veler. These and many other handmade items will be for sale at the church bazaar Saturday.
The Lutheran Church of the Living Word will hold its annual holiday bazaar and hotdog lunch from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday on the church grounds.

A variety of handmade items will be offered for sale, including cross-stitched and framed samplers, crocheted and knitted babies', children's, and adult clothing, embroidered pillowcases, Afghans, arts and crafts items, and more. The church is at 1925 S. Main St. in Laurinburg.

The Rev. Linda Nelson, church pastor, is excited by this year's offerings.

"We will have some beautiful handmade pieces for sale, and will have both a raffle and a silent auction for the public," she said.

Items to be raffled include a handmade quilt, a wine basket, and handmade dolls. Raffle tickets are $1, with the winning ticket drawn at 1 p.m. Saturday.

"We will also offer for silent auction two lovely cross stitched and framed samplers of "The Lord's Prayer" and "Footprints in the Sand", Nelson said. "Everything for sale is made by our church members. We have some very 'crafty' folks here," she said, laughing.

An all beef hot dog sale sponsored by the Men in Mission will be available for lunch. Homemade baked goods will be sold as well.

"Our annual holiday bazaar, going strong for more than 10 years now, is for the entire community," Nelson said. "We invite everyone to come join us this Saturday."
