Romans 12: 10 – “Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another…”

The Bible makes it very clear throughout both the Old Testament and the New Testament that man was created for relationship and fellowship. God gave us some commandments that deal with the way that we are to live in fellowship one with another. In Romans 12 He gives 24 commands in verses 9-21 (read these for yourselves), and throughout His Word are others. Consider in this passage that He tells us to love and honor one another. He tells us that we are not to be spiteful or hurtful to one another. He commands us to be humble, honest and good to one another. He also calls us to empathize with one another. As Christian brothers and sisters, we are to come alongside those who have struggles and let them know we are supporting and caring for them. When we do, we will both find a New Hope for Today.

Marshall is pastor of New Hope Baptist Church
