Loretta Lee "Lorry" Hayden, 52, of Laurinburg passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Loretta was born on Aug. 24, 1960 in Beaufort, S.C., daughter of Patricia Ann Bishop and the late Lonnie L. Simmons and stepdaughter of the late Otto W. Bishop. She was a Registered Nurse who served with Scotland Memorial Hospital and Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She also served as a nursing educator. She remained a member of the Rich Acres Christian Church in Martinsville, Va. after moving to Laurinburg.

Her sister Autumn D. Bishop also preceded her in death.

Loretta is survived by her children Jennifer Lynne Simmons and fiancé Aaron Leviner of Laurinburg, Geoffrey Paul of Pennsylvania, and Meridith Courtney Dallas Hayden of Pembroke, her mother Patricia A. Bishop of Martinsville, Va., her brother Paul E. Bishop of Graham, sisters April J. Bishop of Pulaski, Va. and Spring R. Bishop of Raven, Va., her grandchildren Callan, Austin, Violet, Donnie, and Julia, nephew David Bishop, and niece Destiny Snow.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday evening at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
