A Laurinburg resident recently had her doctorate dissertation published as a scientific publication by Lambert’s Academic Publishing Company.

Dr. Margaret L. Sanders graduated with a doctorate degree in rehabilitation from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in December of 2006. Her book is entitled: “Assessment of Skills Measuring Areas of Independent Living: Independent Living Specialist Expert View on Basic Independent Living Skills for People with Disabilities.”

The book is is available for use within classrooms, research, and/or for general reading and can be found in bookstores and online.

She is the daughter of Bishop Willie Gibson, Jr and Dr. Selena J. S. Gibson.
