Lillie Mae Oxendine Barrington, of McColl, S.C. passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at the age of 90.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Daniel’s Chapel Church in Clio, S.C. officiated by the Rev. Joseph Locklear and the Rev. Kenneth Bryant. Burial will follow the service at Rogers Cemetery in McColl.

Mrs. Barrington was born April 4, 1919 in Marlboro County, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Daniel Oxendine and Mander Maynor Oxendine and the beloved wife of the late Harmon Barrington. She was a devoted homemaker and also worked in textiles, retiring after many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Barrington faithfully served the Lord and was a loyal member of Daniel’s Chapel Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Barrington was also preceded in death by her grandson, Edward Driggers; brothers Willie Oxendine and Floyd D. Oxendine, Jr.; and sisters Emma Lowery, Mamie Locklear, Annie Caulder and Margie Goins.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Retha B. Currie and husband Robert Currie of Laurinburg; a son, Bobby Edward Barrington and wife Christine Barrington of Cheraw, S.C.; a sister, Mary Jacobs of Bennettsville, S.C.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
