Eva Mae Strickland, age 56 of Laurinburg passed away on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at the Morrison Manor Hospice Home.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at Oak Grove Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Earl Henderson. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Eva was born Oct. 16, 1953 in Dillon County, S.C., daughter of the late Bishop Strickland and Lucinda Locklear Strickland. Eva was a homemaker, a sweet and kind sister and aunt. She was a longtime faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Strickland.

She is survived by her sisters, Joyce Strickland of the home and Mary Lucinda Strickland of Laurinburg; a brother, Paul Strickland of Rowland; many nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Priscilla Jones.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
