Mr. Eugene “Huck” Huckabee, 77, of McColl, S.C. passed away on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Marlboro Park Hospital in Bennettsville after an illness.

Born in Scotland County on April 29, 1935, he was a son of the late Tony Deaton and Mary Huckabee Ingram. He was a retired textile worker, a United States Army veteran and was of the Holiness faith. He enjoyed reading, wood working, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his loving wife Geneva Huckabee of the home, daughters Regina McQuage of the home, Angela (Kenny) Bowen of Maxton, and Crystal Watson of McColl, brothers Larry Ingram of Raeford and Lynn Ingram and Glenn Ingram both of Mississippi, sister Betty Jean Ingram of Mississippi, and two grandchildren: Matthew Bowen of Maxton and A.J. Brown of McColl.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at Peace Holiness Church in Gibson, with burial following in Rogers Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home. The Rev. John Cartrette will officiate.

Mr. Huckabee was preceded in death by his parents listed above and by a sister, Peggy Ingram.
