Police say drugs found
One man was arrested and another fled after a traffic stop netted narcotics, according to police.
Joshua Adams Grooms, 21, was arrested for drug trafficking while Kyle Anthony Hyatt eluded capture on Thursday, according to police.
The incident started with a routine traffic stop at Piggly Wiggly. As officers approached the car, Grooms and Hyatt fled the vehicle on foot, according to a police report.
Officers conducted a roadside interview and found 48 grams of hydrocodone.
Police arrested Grooms and placed him in Scotland County Jail under a $5,000 bond. He is charged with drug trafficking.
Hyatt is still at large.

Man gets additional charges
John Bill Faulk, 37, has received charges from a separate incident after his arrest last week for breaking into Scotland Drug Store, according to police.
Faulk, who lives on Biggs Street in Laurinburg, is being charged with additional counts of breaking and entering, larceny and trafficking hydrocodone. These new charges are from a Sept. 22 incident at Community Drugs on Atkinson Street.
Laurel Hill man arrested for breaking and entering
John David Walden, 25, was arrested at his home on Close Street in Laurel Hill Sunday morning at 9 for burglary.
Walden is in Scotland County jail under an $18,000 secured bond for breaking and entering and larceny at Springfield Convenience Store.
Laurinburg man charged with marijuana
Derrick McCoy, 20, was arrested at the Citgo Station on Main Street in Laurinburg for having 7.9 grams of marijuana, police said.
McCoy, who lives on Stewartsville Road in Laurinburg, was arrested for possession with the intent to sell a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
