Teen charged with gun theft
A Laurinburg teen is in custody after stealing a gun and pointing it at someone, a police report said.
Dajour Rasan Green, 18, of Kinston Street is charged with larceny of a handgun and assault by pointing a gun, the report said.
Green is accused of stealing a 9 mm semiautomatic Smith & Wesson handgun from Anthony Galbareth, the report said. The gun belonged to Edna Fairley, a family member of Galbareth.
Man arrested for B&E
A Scotland County man was charged in a series of break-ins.
Deputies arrested 26-year old Donnie Aaron Leviner, of Smith Road, Gibson, on Saturday, a sheriff's report said. Leviner was charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny and attempted breaking and entering. He was placed in Scotland County jail under a $10,000 bond.
Leviner has previously been convicted of several larcenies and break-ins in Scotland and Richmond counties and South Carolina, according to the N.C. Department of Correction.
Farm equipment stolen
Nearly $15,000 in equipment was reported stolen from a chicken farm in Gibson.
Mark Coughenhour, 48, told deputies that 21 chicken house heaters with a combined value of $12,000 and a hit and miss engine worth $2,500 were stolen from his farm on Henry Gibson Road sometime between Nov. 20 and Friday, a sheriff's report said.
The sheriff's department is investigating this incident.
Car reported stolen
A Maxton woman told deputies her car was taken from her yard.
Tammy Blue, 33, of Red Hill Road, reported that someone stole her 2004 Honda Recon from her Red Hill Road home, according to a sheriff’s report.
It was valued at $3,000.
B&E reported
A 61-year old man reported a residential break-in.
Arnold Locklear, of Tuscarora Nation Road, Maxton, reported on Thursday that someone broke into his home and stole a $250 gun and $4 in coins, according to a sheriff’s report.
Damage to a door was $100.
Truck vandalized
Deputies were told last week about a truck being vandalized.
Brenda Collins, 54, of Cherokee Circle, reported on Thursday that someone damaged her 1997 Isuzu truck, according to a sheriff’s report.
Damages were $750 to the passenger side rear quarter panel, $350 to the tires, $300 to the windshield, and $100 to a window.
