Man charged with public urination, drugs
A city man police caught urinating in public was charged with drug possession, according to a Laurinburg police report.
John Willie Tyson, 55, of Alexander Avenue, was arrested Wednesday at 4:50 p.m and charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said. He was also cited for public urination.
Two officers noticed Tyson using the restroom behind a dumpster, the report said. Tyson consented to a search after telling officers he had nothing illegal on him. Officers found a rock of crack cocaine in a plastic bag behind the sweatband of Tyson's cap.
Tyson was released from custody on a written promise to appear in court.
Accused trafficker arrested
A 63-year old Laurinburg man accused of trafficking drugs with his car was arrested by city police on Tuesday, according to a Laurinburg police report.
Hearl Chavis, of Old Track Road, is charged with trafficking hydrocodone and maintaining a drug dwelling, the report said.
Police found hydrocodone pills in Chavis's car when it was searched during a traffic stop on East Vance Street near South Caledonia Road.
Chavis was placed in Scotland County jail under a $20,000 secured bond.
Man charged with assault, threats
Deputies served warrants on a man accused of assault and threats, according to a sheriff's report.
Allen Michael Locklear, 27, of Hoffman, was arrested Friday at 11:30 p.m. on Gibson Road in Laurinburg and charged with assault on a female, injury to property, threatening phone calls and harassing phone calls, the report said. The first two charges stem from an April 12 incident and the second two are from Friday.
Locklear was placed in Scotland County jail under a $2,000 secured bond, the report said. The complainant is listed as Danny Wyland of Laurel Hill.
Locklear has two prior convictions for damaging property, one for assault and one for communicating threats, according to the N.C. Department of Correction. He has also been convicted of selling alcohol to a minor, possessing stolen goods and receiving or possessing a stolen fire arm.
Computers, food reported stolen
A Laurel Hill woman told deputies computers and food was stolen from her home during the Thanksgiving holiday, a sheriff's report said.
Sherry Johnson, 37, reported Sunday night that sometime between 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:22 p.m. Sunday, someone entered her Marston Road home and stole a laptop computer valued at $200, a desktop computer valued at $600 and about $400 worth of frozen meat, the report said.
Two jailed after dispute
A Laurel Hill couple were jailed Sunday night following a domestic dispute, according to a sheriff's report.
Jennifer Lynn Graham, 27, was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest and Jazzma Easterling, 31, was charged with assault on a female following their arrest at their Old Wire Road apartment, the report said. Both were held without bond at Scotland County jail.

Man charged for delinquency
A Laurel Hill man resisted officers while being arrested for a delinquency charge, according to a sheriff's report.
Dennis Ray Elvis, 53, of Fork Street, is charged with resisting arrest and contributing to the delinquency of minors, the report said. He was placed in Scotland County jail under a $500 bond.
