Two car thefts reported

Two cars were reported stolen from the Maxton area.

Debra Smith, 46, of Lee Mobile Home Park, reported on Friday that someone stole a 1994 Saturn car from her home, according to a sheriff’s report. It was valued at $1,320.

Shellie Bartley, 52, told deputies on Saturday that someone stole her 1996 Buick Regal from her Preston Road home, according to another sheriff’s report. It was valued at $2,000.

Fence stolen

A large section of fence was reported stolen by an area business.

Campbell Soup told deputies on Tuesday that someone stole a section of fence valued at $1,500 from a spray field on N.C. 71, according to a sheriff’s report.
