Bulldozer took a plunge

Someone drove a government-owned construction vehicle into a lake, a sheriff's report said.

The North Carolina Wildlife Department told deputies that one of its bulldozers took a plunge into Crawford Lake sometime between 5 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday.

The vehicle is valued at approximated $130,000. The cost for repairs was not listed on the report.

Man charged with shooting into residence

A man is charged with firing a weapon into a residence, a sheriff's report said.

Jerry Oxendine, 56, of 92 Iron Horse Drive, Maxton, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling.

He was placed in Robeson County jail under a $5,000 bond.

Two arrested for assault

A man and a woman who live together were arrested on assault charged, a sheriff's report said.

Felicia M. McBride, 28, of Lees Mill Road, Laurinburg, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a government officer.

Quinton McNeill, 21, is charged with assault on a female.

Both were arrested Sunday at about 2 a.m. at their residence. They were both placed in Scotland County jail without bond.

Vehicle fire reported

A suspicious fire involving two vehicles was reported Friday, a sheriff's report said.

The Laurel Hill Fire Department told deputies that a Ford pickup truck and a boat on a trailer were burned. The values were not listed on the report.

The incident is being investigated as an arson.

Mebane woman cited for pot

A woman from Alamance County was cited for marijuana Saturday, a sheriff's report said.

Mariel Durend Ingram, 20, of Willow Brooke Court, Mebane, is charged with simple possession of marijuana.

The drug was discovered when deputies stopped her blue Buick Century.
