North Carolinians have two top positions on which to decide: who will be our governor and who will be the president of our country.

Choosing our governor should be easy. All anyone need do is refer to the old saying: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago”, and the answer is a resounding “Yes.”

Gov. McCrory and the General Assembly have paid off debts left by the previous governor, reduced taxes for the common worker, have steadily increased teacher’s pay to where it is possible to make over $50,000 a year and still have a long summer vacation.

Under the last Democrat governor, teacher’s salary’s were actually frozen. Governors cannot create jobs, however Gov. McCrory did create a “business-friendly atmosphere” that has made N.C. the fastest growing state economy in the south east.

Gov. McCrory’s challenger, on the other hand, is from the past administration that left the mess Gov. McCrory is just now getting cleaned up, so why would anyone want to give him a chance to make another mess?

Selecting our next president of the United States is a little more complicated, yet if you “look only at the issues” it’s really not that difficult. Those folks that get their “news” from the grocery store tabloids may not know this presidential election is not about personalities but about serious issues that will shape our country’s future for decades.

As we all know Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have two extremely different ideas on which path our country should take: On the issues of our border security: Hillary Clinton wants totally “Open Boarders,” as stated in a speech to Brazilian business men. France is currently living the nightmare of open borders. Donald Trump wants a closed border with well regulated access and accountability.

On our economic system: Hillary favors socialism, as demonstrated in her book“It Takes a Village.” Socialists believe total government control of your life is the best. Donald’s business experience has shown that, as Ronald Reagan said “Government doesn’t solve the problem. Government is the problem.” And that free market capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system.

Hillary will dictate who has the right to own a gun, much the same as Hitler’s National Socialist Workers’ Party denied gun ownership to opposing political party members and Jews. Trump will honor the 2nd amendment. Hillary will continue to partner with the Mainstream media to further her socialist ambitions. Donald Trump will inform the people of the media’s bias and corruption, as did President Reagan. Trump will follow John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan’s financial model of low taxes and a high growth rate. Hillary will tax the rich and give to the poor ultimately destroying both. Hillary will secularize our religious rights under the pretense of not offending those with different beliefs. Trump will keep “God in our country”by doing away with the Democrats’ “Johnson Amendment” that has prevented religious input into our government since 1952.

Hillary has shown to have little or no ability to negotiate trade or peace agreements. Trump has a reputation for being a world-class negotiator. Hillary will likely select subordinates based on obligations to campaign donors. Trump has no financial obligations. Trump has succeeded by surrounding himself with expert problem solvers not cronies.

Hillary will keep doing the sames things but promises to get different results. Trump will remodel the government to run more like an efficient business that provides benefits rather than the current corrupt, disorganized charity. Donald Trump proposed a halt of Middle Eastern refugees until we can guarantee proper vetting while temporarily providing refugees with safe zones, maintained in and by other middle eastern countries. Hillary wants to increase today’s number of incoming refugees by 550 percent while still using our present unreliable vetting process.

Hillary will continue dividing and using minorities for their votes while pacifying them with little handouts. Trump intends to correct short comings in inner city education using competition from vouchers. Trump will control unfair wage competition from illegal aliens by controlling the border, and most important Trump will make inner cities safe for families to live. Trump respects and supports our law enforcement and military, Hillary has shown disdain and disrespect for both.

President Obama says the TPP, (Trans-Pacific Partnership,) corrects many of the problems with NAFTA. Clinton praised the TPP, when she was secretary of state, once calling it the “gold standard in trade agreements.” Donald Trump opposes the TPP as well as NAFTA which in it’s present form, some say, has caused as many job loses as the Great Depression.

If we choose to continue with a stable debt free economy that’s is correcting wrongs suffered by teachers and is the envy of most other states then we need to stay with Gov. McCrory. Or return to a federal debt, frozen teacher’s pay, no representation of the people and a faltering economy then you might want to consider Gov. McCory’s opponent.

Remember this presidential race is not a personality contest but whether our country should operate like an efficient business that provides benefits or a bureaucratic quagmire of socialism, full of lies, corruption and historically has always failed to survived.
