To the editor:

The South is under attack. This time, it is liberal carpetbaggers who have infiltrated Dixie with a vengeance. The new carpetbaggers are exploiting the tragedy in Charleston to continue their long time war on our culture, history, and traditions. Liberals see us as ignorant racists who need liberal wisdom and intellectual guidance to emerge from the darkness of our ways. They are rewriting our history and pushing the phony proposition of “White Guilt” down the throats of our youth. They want you to be ashamed to be Southern.

Liberals are bolstered by a supportive president, a biased media, and radical proxies, which include “intolerant” racially and socially driven political organizations like the NAACP, ACLU, sexual orientation activist groups, atheists, and their teams of lawyers. They impose their will through the courts, executive orders, political correctness extortion, character assassination, and cultural degradation. They want a new South.

Charleston was a setback to their scorched earth policies. The people of that city showed liberals that Southerners do not follow the racially violent examples of Ferguson, Baltimore, New York, and Chicago. Racial antagonists were not welcome. Christianity proved to be stronger than hate. It was a liberal’s nightmare, so they diverted to the flag.

The confederate battle flag controversy is a “red herring” meant to detract us from their ultimate goal. Respected black civil rights leader and Ambassador Andrew Young recently said, “The problems we face have nothing to do with the flag. The fact is that 93 percent of black people are killed by other black people. So, black lives matter. Let us start believing that we matter.” He added, “The challenge for us is not to wipe out our past history but to learn to live together in the future.” Our president should pay heed to a respected black Christian leader who actually grew up in a black community, understands the South, and stood shoulder to shoulder with Martin Luther King.

Today, it is the confederate flag. Tomorrow, it will be our historical monuments, parks, street signs, school names, text books, Christianity (the real prize), the cross (The KKK uses it, therefore, it must be racist), and even barbecue, fried chicken, and sweet tea. They have destroyed our definition of marriage, taken down the Ten Commandments, and mothballed the General Lee. What is next?

Our politicians are running scared. They are useless. Their sole focus is reelection. Our businesses have caved to cultural extortion and political correctness, including NASCAR and Walmart. The vicious minority is ruling the majority. Our proud heritage is at risk. The new liberal carpetbaggers are among us and they have a plan. What are we going to do about it?
