Arrests


LAURINBURG — Candice Huff, 28, of 5281 Crestline Road was arrested Monday, according to a police report. She was held under a $1,000 bond and placed in the Scotland County Jail.


LAURINBURG — Codi McArthur, 26, of 817 Pittman Road in Lumberton was arrested Monday for larceny at Walmart, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Carson Bevis, 25, of 10420 Leisure Road was arrested Friday and charged with forgery and uttering after writing out about $550 worth of checks that he stole from a family member to give to a friend of his, according to a police report.


Theft


LAURINBURG — Vanessa Driggers of East Vance Street reported a forgery and larceny on Monday after she ordered personal checks to be sent to her residence and never received them, according to a police report. Driggers checked her banking account to see that money was missing. Someone stole the checks from her mailbox and wrote a check at Food Lion to purchase $357.93 worth of items. The crime is still under investigation.


LAURINBURG — Golden Run, at Scotland Crossing Drive, reported Monday that five people ate at the restaurant and left the business without paying for their meal, according to a police report. The bill ran up to $40.35 and the police advised the restaurant to take out warrants on the party.


LAURINBURG — Bob’s Jewel Shop, at West Church Street, reported Tuesday that two unknown men shattered a glass window to the building around 4:15 a.m., broke into a display case and stole an undisclosed amount of money, according to a police report. The men got away in an unknown vehicle and abandoned it when officers tried to stop them this morning for a traffic violation. Jewelry and an ID was found inside the car. The crime is still under investigation.


WAGRAM — William Stubbs of Airbase Road reported Monday that someone stole 150 sheets of metal worth about $10,000 and a steel box blade valued at about $200 from behind his residence, according to a sheriff’s report.


Break-ins


LAUREL HILL — James Kelly of Rockingham Road reported on Monday that someone entered his residence at the back through a window, according to a sheriff’s report. The burglar caused about $400 in damages to Kelly’s window and stole a gun valued at $300.


LAUREL HILL — Nancy Caulder of Marston Road reported Monday that someone entered her home and stole a television, two laptops, two gaming systems and assorted video games valued at a total of about $1,600, according to a sheriff’s report.


MAXTON — Crystal Locklear of Benton Drive reported Monday that someone broke into her residence and stole a gun and gaming system, according to a sheriff’s report.
