Crime report for Dec. 3

LAUREL HILL — Brian Owens, 35, of 1879 Red Bluff Road in McColl, S.C., was arrested Saturday and charged with simply physical assault and injury to personal property, according to a sheriff’s report. Owens was held under a $750 bond.
LAURINBURG — Marvin Gibson, 38, of Laurinburg, was arrested on Friday and charged with two misdemeanors of assault on a female, according to a sheriff’s report. Gibson was held under a $1,000 bond.
LAURINBURG — Storage Solutions, at South Main Street, reported on Thursday that someone broke into approximately nine storage units on the business’s property, according to a police report. About $900 worth of damage was caused to the doors and locks of the units. The business reported another break-in on Saturday when someone broke into and damaged the wooden and metal doors and locks of 37 units. About $8,500 worth of damages was caused to the doors and locks and it is unknown of what all was stolen from inside the units. Authorities are still investigating the case.
LAURINBURG — Angel Oquendo of Pine View Circle reported Thursday that someone broke into his home and stole an assortment of medications from his residence, according to a police report.
LAURINBURG — Jeremy Hammonds of McDuffie Village Apartments reported on Thursday that someone broke into his residence and stole an assortment of video games and controllers, according to a police report. About $500 worth of items were stolen.
LAURINBURG — Edward Charles Steele Jr. of Douglas Street reported on Saturday that someone vandalized his 2004 Chevrolet Impala and stole items inside, according to a police report. Someone scratched the paint on the vehicle, damaged the tires and stole a radio and speaker. The items taken are valued around $400 and about $2,000 worth of damages was caused to the vehicle.
LAURINBURG — Shelean Bland of R Graham Street reported Sunday that someone broke into the residence she is renting out and stole a refrigerator and stove valued at about $600, according to a police report.
LAURINBURG — Arthur Austin of Lytch Street reported on Sunday that someone damaged the door and lock to his residence to gain entry, according to a police report. No items were reported missing.
LAURINBURG — Authorities responded to Scotland Memorial Hospital, at Lauchwood Drive, on Sunday in reference to a simple assault, according to a police report. A 13-year-old girl was assaulted by her father. She was struck several times with a belt on her buttocks and legs and struck on her arm and leg with his closed fist. The case was turned over to the Department of Social Services.
MARSTON — Bonnie Thomas of Pinebluff reported Saturday that someone broke the glass in a door window and entered the residence of Leonard Wilkes of Aberdeen Road, according to a sheriff’s report. About $50 worth of damage was done to the window.
LAURINBURG — Janice McLean of Spruce Street reported on Monday that someone broke a window to her home with a brick, according to a police report. About $250 worth of damage was caused to the window.
LAURINBURG — Jay’s Convenience, at Wagram Road, reported Saturday that someone attempted to use counterfeit U.S. currency to purchase items at the store, according to a sheriff’s report.
