Romeo, his friend and her three babies were left in a box to fend for themselves. Luckily, someone was nice enough to leave them at a residence in Scotland County and the homeowner brought them to the shelter. Romeo, a 2-year old Domestic Shorthair, was already neutered and front-paw declawed. As his name suggests, he is a lover. Stop by and meet Romeo and his friends at the JD and Fran Asher Animal Shelter at 1401 West Boulevard, Laurinburg.

For the month of September, the adoption fee for cats has been reduced to $20. The fee includes spaying/neutering, introductory immunizations and a microchip. Applications are available online at www.scotlandhumane.org or at the shelter.
