LAURINBURG — Richmond Community College will offer a course to prepare students to become certified as personal trainers from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays this fall.
“The class will cover all the fundamentals you’ll need to pass the personal trainer certification exam,” said instructor Derrick Bullard. “We’ll discuss various aspects of different exercises, as well as go over meeting with clients and working with them to help them achieve their fitness goals.”
Classroom instruction will be held at the Honeycutt Center in Laurinburg beginning Sept. 17 and running through Dec. 10. There will also be weekly online assignments.
“Each class will include time for instruction, as well as working in small groups for hands-on training,” Bullard said.
At the conclusion of the class, students will possess the fundamental knowledge needed to pass the American College of Sports Medicine personal trainer certification.
Cost for the class is $180, plus textbook. For more information about the course, call (910) 410-1704.
