VIA PEDEMONTE, ITALY — First Lt. Antoinette Gore Boston was recently promoted to the rank of Captain during a ceremony in her honor at Aviano Air Base Italy. Boston was read the Oath of Office by Cpt. Falana Gideon, and was pinned by Gideon and Maj. Tamara Myers.

Boston graduated from Air University Commissioned Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala. in 2010 and completed her Nurse Transition Program at University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She successfully completed Expeditionary Medical Support Training at Camp Bulls in San Antonio, Texas. Boston received her nursing degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is assigned to the 31st Medical Group, under the Surgical Operations Squadron Aviano Air Base Italy.

She is the daughter of Anthony J. Gore, Sr. and Barbara Leggett Gore of Charlotte, the niece of Kenneth Leggett, Sr., and granddaughter of John Willie and Lillie Bell Davis, all of Laurinburg.
