LAURINBUG — Author, journalist and poet Sherry Rentschler will be the featured reader Thursday at the St. Andrews University Writers’ Forum.
Free and open to the public, the Forum begins at 8 p.m. in the Ronald H. Bayes Writers’ Forum Lounge of Orange Hall.
Rentschler’s first poem was published at the age of 5 and her first newspaper article was published at age 13. She has been writing ever since. She has been published in a variety of literary magazines as she worked as a staff columnist and assistant poetry editor for the online magazine, Amateur Poetry Journal.
Rentschler has also worked as a staff writer and photojournalist for a local newspaper. Her first collection of poetry, Paper Bones, was published in July 2013.
She collaborated with another writer on an online, serialized gothic romance story, a project she credits with helping her how to see a story from many angles as well as how to utilize the art of a good cliffhanger.
She is currently writing a historical murder mystery and a vampire series.
