LAURINBURG — The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office is working to fix a glitch with its phone system and has provided an alternate number for local residents to dial if in need of assistance with non-emergency issues.


If anyone is unable to get in contact with the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-276-3385, Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Jacobs suggested the public call 910-291-0072.


“What we want the public to know is that we have another call of service,” he said.


The glitch only applies to the non-emergency line. Callers who dial 911 will have no problem reaching emergency personnel.
