LAURINBURG — Laurinburg Police netted 107 traffic violations and served 39 arrest warrants during a statewide “Booze it & Loose it” Campaign, according to Police Sgt. Chris Jackson.
Officers had set up several checkpoints and areas of radar saturation beginning Oct. 25 and ending Thursday, Jackson said. Police issued 44 speeding citations; 14 citations for driving while license revoked, four citations for no operator’s license and one citation for failing to carry a driver’s license.
Eight were cited for driving with expired plates, four for driving with revoked plates, one for driving with a fictitious plate and five for having expired inspections. Eight child seat violations and seven drug violations were issued and five people were charged for having no insurance. Two people did not stop for blue lights, one person had an open container of alcohol and another was charged for driving while impaired.
Three were charged for excessive window tint, three for seat belt violations, one for following too closely and one for driving left of center.
