LAURINBURG — Scotland County native Carlton Andre Greene, Jr. retired this week after 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

Greene is a 1994 graduate of Scotland High School and enlisted in the Air Force directly after graduation. During his service, Greene was stationed in, Saudia Arabia, Japan, Korea, and Italy. His final station was at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in South Carolina, and he retires as a technican sergeant.

Among his decorations are the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Greene is the son of Betty Bright of Laurinburg, the late Carlton Greene, Sr., and Charles Edward McKoy of Hamlet.
