LAURINBURG — children and their families gathered in their best pajamas at Scotland County Memorial Library on Thursday night for an evening of storytelling.

The event was sponsored by the Scotland County Partnership for Children and Families to help promote literacy. Stories of “Tag Along Fred,” “Itsy Bitsy Frog” and “Wish for a Fish” kept children and parents completely engrossed.

“The Pajama Party at the library is always a wonderful success,” said Benny Cox, director or operations for the partnership. “For many years, the party has been enjoyed by the children and adults alike; everyone always seems to have a lot of fun. The event had a great turnout, and we look forward to having many more in the future.”

Board member Ellen McRae helped to organize the event, and Youth Services Librarian Denise Dunn served as co-host.
