HAMLET – Two Scotland County cousins will present their theatrical work, “If You Cook I’ll Clean,” and a pre-show gospel concert at the Cole Auditorium in February.

“If You Cook, I’ll Clean” was adapted for stage and produced by 1995 Scotland High School graduate Eric Goodwin.

The inspirational play is based on Eli Breeden’s book of the same name. It follows the struggles of a husband and wife as he tries to make a name for himself in the theatrical arts and she carries the financial burdens while each hides secrets from the other.

Breeden, a graduate of UNC Charlotte has owned and operated several businesses, but his most recent effort is a software training consulting company that frees him up to write.He called writing the book, “his ultimate dream.”

Breeden’s cousin, Goodwin, stars in and directs the production. Goodwin has been involved in theatrical production for 17 years. He is currently the acting coach of a Charlotte-based company.

The show will premiere at the Cole Auditorium on Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. Standard tickets are $25 and VIP passes are $30. Standard tickets are available at the Cole box office, payment by cash only. Online tickets for the event are sold out.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert featuring Anointed Praise Ministry and Cedric Miles and The United Voices of Praise begins at 7 p.m.
