LAURINBURG — Scotland Health Care System is celebrating Hospital Week runs through Saturday.

This year, the health care system is celebrating its associates by recognizing National Patient Experience Week, National Nurses Week, and National Hospital Week all at the same time.

Each of these nationally recognized events celebrates the women and men who support the health and well-being of our communities through dedication and compassionate care.

Scotland Health Care System will hold its annual Award of Excellence presentation today that honors an associate who exemplifies the values of our system. The award recognizes a compassionate and caring individual who is here because he or she cares.

The event allows the Scotland Health Care System to say thank you for what the associates do each day, according to Stephanie Tatum, Scotland Healthcare System, marketing coordinator.

Each associate will receive a special gift and celebrations are not complete without food. The health care system will hold a picnic for its associates on the hospital campus.

The weeklong celebration extends outside the walls of the system by offering community members screenings. No appointments are necessary. A1C and blood pressure screenings will be available to the community on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. on the mobile unit located on the hospital campus.

Scotland Health is also sponsoring an education booth and will promote two upcoming screenings to be held Saturday at the Golden Corral in Laurinburg in support of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church from 9 to 11 a.m. and in Bennettsville, at the First Presbyterian Church from 9 to 11 a.m.
