LAURINBURG — Police arrested a Laurinburg man wanted for discharging a firearm into a moving vehicle, discharging firearms into occupied property, discharging a firearm within city limits, and felony conspiracy.

City police say the arrest of Devonta Jameel Monroe stems from a July 8 shooting of a vehicle travelling on Spruce Street and and shooting into a nearby residence on East Vance Street.

Police had already arrested Jaylen Everett in connection with the shooting..

According to police, Monroe, who threatened to shoot officers and was suspected of shooting at a police vehicle, was considered armed and dangerous.
