No decision yet to alter Scotland court schedule ahead of storm

LAURINBURG — Scotlan County Courthouse officials say no decision has been made on whether to close court or modify the court schedule ahead of Hurricane Irma.

“Our judges are closely monitoring the status of Hurricane Irma due to the unpredictability of the storm,” said Philip McRae, clerk of Superior Court Tentative forecasts indicate that we may miss the brunt of the storm, so no decisions have been made.”

Any decisions will be communicated to local media as soon as reasonably possible, but at least by early afternoon on Sunday, McRae said.
