LAURINBURG — Area golfers are invited to bring their best game to Scotch Meadows Country Club on Aug. 13 for Faith Presbyterian’s 13th annual Ministry & Mission Golf Tournament.

A 1 p.m. shotgun start in a Captain’s Choice format will begin the day.

Registration will begin at noon. Ten percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit Project In As Much, which provides food on the weekends for Scotland County’s school-aged children. The rest will go towards the church’s building fund.

The entry fee for each player is $70 which includes 1 mulligan, Super Drive on No. 18 and a light meal after play prepared by the Faith Presbyterian Women. Drinks and snacks are also provided during play. Cash awards are offered for the winning team and team with lowest putts. Special awards include longest drives on No. 8 for the ladies, and No. 10 for the men, closest to the pins for everyone on No. 2 and No. 12. A draw for door prizes will be held after play.

This year’s tournament co-chairs are Jeff McGirt and Jane Callahan, who can be reached at 910-844-6478 or 910- 276-2016, respectively. Entry fee for the tournament can be paid at registration on Aug. 13.

If you are interested in playing, call Scotch Meadows Country Club and get signed up. Seniors aged 65 and over, are welcome and can tee off from the senior tee markers.

Tickets for a drawing for a Amish Throw will also be on sale, for $1. The throw was purchased by the church from a Pennsylvania store and has a value of $210.00. For tickets, contact any member of Faith Church or call Callahan at the number above.
