Where do we stand with “The Art’s Program” At Scotland High School?

If prepared, Scotland Singers could have participated this past weekend for Christmas on Main. If prepared, Scotland Singers could have participated in the Hamlet Christmas Celebration and represented Scotland just as our glorious football team has done. If prepared, Scotland Singers could participate in the Pembroke Honors Chorus as last year. If prepared, they could attend competitions.

Why is there no one who can take this program? This is my daughter’s senior year. She has been in a formal chorus setting from fourth through ninth grade while living in Columbia, S.C. Thanks to three special teachers, she had two more years her sophomore and junior year.

Among the three of them they kept it going. Now, her senior year, there has been no chorus program. There will be no Christmas or Spring program for me to attend for my daughter’s senior year. Scotland Singers are no more. There will be no end of the year program and no one seems to care.

It’s a shame we do not have someone who can step up and take this program. Since the last day of school in June, there has been no vocal training. If your child wants to minor in voice right now, you can forget voice at Scotland High School. I can not get my daughter’s senior year back. I wish I could.
