Arrests
LAURINBURG — Antonio Pate, 49, of 17040 Wagram Road was arrested on Thursday and charged with three counts of first-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, misdemeanor child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon in the presence of a minor, communicating threats, and injury to property, according to a police report. Pate was held without bond.
Shots fired
LAURINBURG — A pair of Laurinburg men will be charged after allegedly exchanging fire at a South Caledonia Road convenience store on Friday, according to a police report. Authorities have obtained warrants on 24-year-old Emmanuel “Shawn” Henderson of 612 E. Vance St. for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon, and discharging a firearm within the city limits. Santetes Braddy, 23, of 408 E. Vance St. is also wanted for carrying a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm in the city. No injuries were reported in the shooting.
Break-ins
LAURINBURG — A Hood Drive resident reported a breaking and entering and larceny on Saturday, according to a police report. Clothing and cleaning items were reported stolen.
LAURINBURG — A Carver Street resident reported a breaking and entering and larceny on Friday, according to a police report. A 72-inch television and food items were reported stolen.
LAURINBURG — Roses Express on U.S. 401 reported that someone broke into the manager’s office on Saturday and stole cash and other items totaling $2,500 in value, according to a police report.
LAURINBURG — Charles Craft, Inc. reported that someone broke into a vehicle at Lowe’s on U.S. 401 on Monday and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a police report.
Financial card fraud
LAURINBURG — A city resident reported fraudulent use of his debit card at Lowe’s on Monday, according to a police report. More than $1,000 was charged to the card.
LAURINBURG — A Hamlet resident reported on Monday that someone used his debit card at Walmart for more than $1,600 of purchases, according to a police report.
