Shooting

LAURINBURG — A man was shot in leg on North Main Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, according to a police report. Police said the victim, who was treated at Scotland Memorial Hospital, declined to cooperate with their investigation.

Arrests

LAURINBURG — Alexander Breeden, 59, of 350 Sawdust Lane was arrested on Monday after spending $85 from a debit card he said he found on the ground outside of the Dollar Tree, according to a police report. Breeden was charged with two-counts of financial transaction card theft and obtaining property by false pretense. He was placed under a $5,000 secured bond.

Thefts

LAURINBURG — A resident of Dunbar Drive reported a breaking and entering and larceny of assorted tools from his workshop, according to a police report.

LAURINBURG — A resident of East Vance Street said someone stole a generator, saw, air compressor and tool box, according to a police report. The items were valued at $700.

Vandalism

LAURINBURG — A 2013 Hyundai parked on Chestnut Street was reported vandalized on Monday after someone beat the side with a metal object, according to a police report. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
