Drug seizure


LAURINBURG — It was reported Tuesday, around 2:45 p.m., that when an investigator arrived at a home on 21000 Salley McNair Road to conduct a scheduled eviction of then-resident, Eric Fields, the property owner stated that Fields had already moved out but left behind a bag of marijuana inside a kitchen cabinet, according to a sheriff’s report. Fields, 40, was arrested last month for several felonious drug charges and domestic assault. The size and weight of the bag has yet to be determined and was confiscated by authorities.


Break-ins


LAURINBURG — Jeffery Lockhart, of South Pine Street, reported Wednesday that someone broke into his home and stole a game system and several video games, valued at about $500, according to a police report. The thief also caused about $50 damage to a window pane to Lockhart’s home.


LAURINBURG — Candace Locklear, of Knox Street, reported on Tuesday that someone broke into her home and stole a PlayStation gaming system and several video games, valued at about $480, according to a police report.


LAURINBURG — Brandy Gross, of Ward Street, reported Tuesday that someone broke into her barn, causing about $240 damage, and stole a metal bed frame, cast iron cooking pots and assorted tools, valued at about $455, according to a police report.


GIBSON — Harmony Graham, of Hamlet Road, reported Tuesday that someone broke into her home and stole furniture and electronics, according to a sheriff’s report.


Theft


LAURINBURG — Stephanie Berry, of Sanders Circle, reported Tuesday that someone took a stolen trailer, valued at about $2,500, to a residence on Hobbiton Road in an attempt to sell it, according to a sheriff’s report. The trailer had been stolen from Harry Early, of Benaja Road in Reidsville, back in March 2011.


LAUREL HILL — Dwayne Deese, of Crawford Lake Road, reported Tuesday that someone stole his 4-year-old brown and white pit bull, valued at about $300, from his backyard, according to a sheriff’s report.


LAUREL HILL — Mitchell Goude, of Gibson Road, reported on Tuesday that someone stole 24 tractor weights, valued at about $4,800, from a home on Windy Hill Farm Road, according to a sheriff’s report.


Arson


LAURINBURG — It was reported on Tuesday that someone set a 2007 Nissan Altima on fire that belonged to Barbara Nixon, of North Hooper Street in Maxton, that was parked off the side of the road near the intersection of Old Lumberton and McCarn roads, according to a sheriff’s report. The vehicle was valued at about $13,000.
