CRIME REPORT


Break in

LAURINBURG – A resident of Tatum Highway in Clio, South Carolina reported to police on Sunday that someone broke into his storage unit at Storage Solutions located on US 401 and stole stereo speakers, a vending machine, a 65-inch flat-screen television, a chainsaw, air compressor and assorted furniture total value $4,000.

LAURINBURG – A resident of Covington Street reported to police on Monday that someone broke in to his house and stole a change jar with an undisclosed amount of money.

LAUREL HILL – A resident of Marston Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Saturday that someone broke into the residence and stole an iPad, lap top computer, and three televisions total value $1,880.

Shooting

LAURINBURG – A resident of Sally McNair Road reported to police on Saturday that he was standing outside the Terminal motel located on East Church Street when someone drove by and fired several shots. No one was injured and no damages could be found.

Fraud

LAURINBURG – An employee at One Main Financial located on US 401 South reported to police on Monday that someone passed a counterfeit $20 bill. The bill was discovered during a bank deposit.

LAURINBURG – A resident of Brandon Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday that someone stole his identity and filed a tax return in the amount of $888.

Arrests

LAURINBURG – Tadaryn Karon Williamson, 22, of South Turnpike road was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and failure to appear. Police spotted Williamson in the parking lot at Stewartsville Baptist Church and attempted to apprehend him. Williamson fled on foot and was chased to his home on Turnpike Road. After a search of the home, Williamson was located in a closet. Williamson is wanted on several orders for failure to appear out of Columbus County and is being held on a $291,000. He was charged with resisting arrest by the Laurinburg police department and received a $1,000 bond.

LAURINBURG – Traquin McBride, 23, of Cooper Street was arrested following a traffic stop. McBride was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and was cited for several traffic violations. No bond information was available, according to police.

LAURINBURG – Willie Quick, 54, of Fairmont Street was arrested on charges of larceny from Walmart and given a $1,000 secured bond, according to police.

LAURINBURG – Shirl Bridges, 53, of Railroad Street was arrested on charges of larceny and trespassing at Walmart and given a $2,000 secured bond according to police.

LAUREL HILL − John Luther Leggett, 52, of Laurel Hill was arrested for assaulting a government official, assault on a female and resisting a public officer. Leggett was given a $1,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s office.

LAUREL HILL − Christopher Lee Fields, 31, of Laurel Hill was arrested for assault and inflicting serious bodily injury. Fields was given an $800 bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
