Scotland GOP convention March 27

LAURINBURG — The Scotland County Republican Convention will be held March 27.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Scotland County Republican headquarters with a hot dog social and registration. The official convention will begin at 7 p.m.

Several political dignitaries have expressed a desire to visit, according to Scotland County Republican Party Chairman Mark Schenck.

Local Republicans that fail to attend the Scotland County convention may still attend the district and state convention, but will not be allowed to participate in the voting process.

The 2017 NCGOP State Convention will be held June 2-4 at the Wilmington Convention Center in Wilmington.

This year, North Carolina Republicans will be electing the state party chairman and vice chairman. The GOP will also be voting on a new plan of organization, a new platform and party resolutions.
