LAURINBURG – St. Andrews University will hold the last John Calvin McNair Lecture Series on Science and Theology for the 2016-17 academic year on Feb. 21

Dr. William Brown from Columbia Theological Seminary will share his thoughts on biophilia and the Book of Job. The biophilia hypothesis, by definition, suggests that humans possess an innate tendency to seek connections with nature and other forms of life, as introduced by Edward O. Wilson in 1984.

Brown’s lecture will be the 13th hosted by St. Andrews as part of the John Calvin McNair Lecture on Science and Theology series. Previous lectures have been provided by such notables as Dr. Raymond Barfield, Dr. Owen Gingerich, Dr. Marcelo Gleiser and Dr. Jennifer Wiseman.

The lecture will be held at 6 p.m. in the Carol Grotnes Belk Main Room.

The lecture begins at 7 p.m. with dinner beginning at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public with an RSVP to [email protected] or 910-277-5240. Seating is limited.
