LAURINBURG — William E. (Bill) Rinker, a resident of Concord, was unanimously elected to the Board of Trustees of St. Andrews University and Webber International University on Oct. 8.

Rinker is been the owner of Rinker Commercial Properties, LLC, a commercial real estate company, and vice-president/treasurer of Davisco, Inc., a commercial real estate owner and land developer. He is a member of the St. Andrews Class of 1969 and is currently serving as a member and chair of the Nominations Task Force for the St. Andrews Alumni Council.

Rinker is a former member of the Cabarrus County Community Foundation and the Board of Directors of Uwharrie Bank. He is currently a member of the Ben Mynatt Children’s Foundation Board of Directors.

“I am honored to be able to serve on the Board of Trustees at St. Andrews University,” said Rinker. “The education that I received at SAU has been a great benefit to me throughout my work career. The friends that I made and especially my wife (I met her in the registration line!) are constant reminders of that special time.

“Hopefully, I can give back in a positive way all that St. Andrews has given to me,” he added.

Rinker’s election to the Board of Trustees represents the second consecutive year a North Carolinian has been added to the school’s governing body.
