LAURINBURG — A two-car accident at the intersection of Old Wire and Sneads Grove roads on Wednesday night resulted in the death of a driver.

According to media reports, a vehicle traveling north on Sneads Grove ran the stop sign at Old Wire Road, resulting in a side-on collision with another car on Old Wire.

The accident killed the driver of the second car. Both the passenger of that vehicle and the driver who ran the stop sign were transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital.

As of presstime on Thursday, the N.C. Highway Patrol had not released the names of those involved because the family of the driver killed had not been notified.
