LAURINBURG – Two brothers have been transported to a Chapel Hill hospital following a shooting on Anne Street over the weekend.

Police received a call of two gunshot victims at Scotland Memorial Hospital at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Patrol Capt. Terry Chavis.

The two victims — Tylik Johnson and Malik Johnson — were interviewed separately. Both teens told responding officers that they had been walking when a Burgundy Chevrolet Malibu pulled up and someone began shooting, police said.

Tylik Johnson, 18, received a bullet wound to the upper arm.

Malik Johnson, 18, received a gunshot wound to the back of the head, but was alert and responsive before being transported from Scotland Memorial, according to Chavis.

The Johnsons live on Wilmington Street.

They were transferred to hospital out of Scotland County for treatment.
