LAURINBURG – A Laurinburg man arrested earlier in the month for revenge porn is back in jail on multiple domestic violence charges after he held his alleged accomplice at gunpoint.

Phillip Jerome Campbell, 42, of Sugar Road, is accused of first-degree kidnapping, assault by pointing a gun, and communicating threats and intimidating state witness.

Campbell and the victim, Priscilla Ann Patterson, 39, of Sugar Road were both arrested on Aug. 4 for felony disclosure of private images.

The two are alleged to have shared nude photos or videos of one Campbell’s former romantic partners between July 23 and 25, according to Capt. Ruben Castellon, chief detective with the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the couple were blackmailing a woman. When she didn’t give in to their demands, they posted inappropriate pictures of the woman on Facebook.

This is the first time the sheriff’s office has arrested anyone under the disclosure of private images law.

Disclosure of private images is a class C – D felony and carries various sentences depending on a variety of factors, according to Castellon. If convicted an offender may receive anywhere from probation to six years in prison.

Upon her release from jail, Patterson filed a domestic violence protection order against Campbell.

On Wednesday, Campbell made contact with Laurinburg Police Department and asked for an officer to accompany him to the home to gather his belongings.

“We escort them to the house to pack up their clothing or anything,” said Patrol Capt. Terry Chavis. “There was no problem at all. Our guys advised him that he couldn’t go back to the home.”

Despite police warnings, police said Campbell returned to the home during the night where he held Patterson hostage.

“At 8 p.m. that night he went back to the residence and forced the door open and held her at gunpoint until she was able to make contact with a family member who then notified us,” Chavis said.

Campbell was still on the premises when police arrived, and he was arrested.

He was arrested for domestic violence order violation with a weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of first degree kidnap, first degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon in the presence of a minor, assault by pointing a gun, communicating threats and intimidating state witness.

He is being held in the Scotland County Detention Center on a $1.5 million bond.
