LAURINBURG — Scotland County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of seven people arrested during Operation Heatwave last week.

The two-day exercise took place on Wednesday and Thursday and resulted in 20 arrests countywide. The focus of the exercise was rounding up probation and parole violators, fugitives and gun and drug offenders, officials said.

The names of those arrested are:

— Jason Winston Locklear, 22, of Old Johns Road in Laurinburg was arrested for misdemeanor simple possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to distribute a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Locklear did not receive bond due to being on probation.

— Danny Ray Cooper, 34, of Lee’s Mill Road in Laurinburg was arrested for felony larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny and given a $20,000 bond.

— Allen Brian Chavis, 35, of North Gill Street was arrested for felony larceny and obtaining property by false pretense and given a $15,000 secured bond.

— Sheldon Terrell McNeil, 20, of Raleigh Street in Laurinburg was arrested for failure to appear for assault on a female and probation violations and given an $11,000 secured bond.

— James Franklin Troublefield , 29, of Raleigh Street in Laurinburg was arrested for simple possession of a schedule VI substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and probation violation and given a. $6,000 secured bond.

— William Ralph Shepherd, 52, of Duncan Street in Laurinburg was arrested for probation violations and given a $10,100 secured bond.

— William Curtis Graham, 45, of Andrew Jackson Highway was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and given a written promise to appear.

The operation was a joint effort between the Laurinburg and Wagram police departments, Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Highway Patrol and authorities from Hoke and Robeson Counties.

Authorities have not released a complete list of arrests at this time.
