LAURINBURG – Scotland County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Laurinburg man whom they say is responsible for a shooting in early July.

Terrance Lamont McKoy, 20, of Wagram Street, was arrested on one felony count of discharging a firearm into an occupied property, according to the sheriff’s office.

On July 08 deputies responded to a shooting on Peele’s Chapel Road.

A group of people had met for two women to fight, but McKoy drew a weapon and began shooting at an occupied vehicle, according to Capt. Ruben Castellon, chief detective with the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office.

“After further investigation by the … Detective Division, on July 24 warrants for arrest were obtained against Terrance McKoy for allegedly discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle,” Castellon said.

McKoy was apprehended on July 25, through the joint efforts of the sheriff’s office and police department.

McKoy was arrested with no incident and was transported to the Scotland County Magistrate’s office where he was issued a $10,000 secured bond.”

He is being held at the Scotland County Detention Center.
