LAURINBURG – Scotland County Parks and Recreation reported to police on Wednesday that someone broke into the building at the Tennis Center on Atkinson Street and stole $10 worth of snacks leaving $200 damage to a window.
LAURINBURG – A resident of Neal Lane reported to police on Wednesday that someone stole a working $200 lawn mower from the property and left a lawn mower in its place that would not start.
LAURINBURG – Trinity Presbyterian Church on Blues Farm Road reported to police on Wednesday that someone stole seven benches from a playground valued at $50.
LAURINBURG – A resident of Bronco Drive reported to police on Wednesday that three men approached him as he walked near Brothers in the Hood Market on North Main Street. The men asked him if he had anything of value before hitting him on the head. The man was treated at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
LAUREL HILL – An employee of Windstream in Aberdeen reported to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday that someone stole a 2014 White Ford Econoline van valued at $10,500 from where it was parked on Morgan Street. The vehicle was unsecured with the keys inside.
LAURINBURG – A resident of South Pine Street reported to police on Wednesday that someone stole a personal check and cashed it for $2,700.
LAURINBURG – A resident of Hasty Road reported to police on Wednesday that someone used her information to open an account with Verizon.
LAURINBURG – A resident of Academy Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday that someone stole her credit card information and made $3,056 in charges.
LAURINBURG – Quinton Baker, 30, of Turnpike Road, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon after police responded to a call at Greenfield Apartments on Turnpike Road.
LAURINBURG – Eric Caple, 25, of Macintosh Road, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon after police responded to a call of suspicious activity on Covington Street.
LAURINBURG – Leory McCall Jr., 36, of Old Lumberton Road, was arrested on warrants for felony larceny, possession of stolen property and interference with an electronic monitoring device issued by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and given a $40,000 bond, according to police.
LAURINBURG – Shawn Blackmon, 38, of Bailey Street, was charged with larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and given no bond, according to police.
