LAURINBURG — The Golden Age Committee Celebrated its fifth Anniversary in April and crowned a new king and Queen.

Verlean Bell, the first-place queen, and Danny McLeod, the first-place king, who each received gifts and cash prizes. The pageant winners will also ride in the 2017 Laurinburg Christmas parade.

The runner’s up were Doris McRae and Josh Hayes. Winners were chosen based on who raised the most money. A total of 11 people participated

The guest speaker was Rev. Helen Miller-Best, a gospel recording artist who sang “He Won’t Let You Fall”.
