LAURINBURG – A resident of Omega Street reported to police on Wednesday that his gun was taken from his car. He noticed it missing after he gave a ride to some acquaintances.

Fraud

LAURINBURG – A resident of South Turnpike Road reported to police on Wednesday that she received a letter from the IRS stating that her tax refund had been garnished because she failed to pay student loans from 2012. The woman says she never had any loans.

LAURINBURG – A student at St. Andrews University reported to police on Wednesday that she sent $400 to a person in Virginia to purchase a dog and never received the dog.

Break in

LAURINBURG – A resident of Plaza Road reported to police on Wednesday that someone broke into her car and took a battery charger valued at $80.

LAURINBURG – A resident of McBride Avenue reported to police on Wednesday that someone broke into her car and stole a folder containing her owner’s manual, vehicle information and registration.

LAURINBURG – A resident of Laurel Hill reported to police on Wednesday that someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked at Scotland Crossing Shopping Center and stole a purse containing an undisclosed amount of money.

Arrests

LAURINBURG – Marilyn Griffin, 33, of Beech Street, was arrested on a warrant for felonious assault out of Robeson County and given a $15,000 secured bond, according to police.
