LAURINBURG – A Laurinburg man wanted in multiple shootings was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Maxton.

Teon Trevareus Thomas, 20, of 508 Creedle St, has been charged in connection with a February shooting on Tuskeegee Drive and another on Gill Street that took place in March.

The charges against Thomas include 11 counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and three counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling/moving vehicle, according to officials

On Feb. 10, police responded to a call about “several shots” fired into a vehicle traveling along Tuskeegee Drive, according to Assistant Chief of Police Cliff Sessoms.

The car was occupied by four adults and two children. No one was injured during the incident, Sessoms said.

Police conducted an investigation and discovered that Thomas was on Tuskeegee Drive and fired at the car, Sessoms said.

Police obtained warrants and charged Thomas with one count each of discharging a firearm at a moving conveyance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

In March, Thomas shot up a home on Gill Street, Sessoms.

“Upon arrival it was discovered that Thomas had fired approximately three shots into a residence occupied by four adults,” Sessoms said.

No one was injured.

The victims in both incidents are known to Thomas, but police have not released a motive.

During the investigation, U.S. Marshals said they found Thomas where he was staying in Maxton and surrounded the area. Thomas surrendered, was arrested without incident.

He and also charged with a felony probation violation.

Thomas is currently in Scotland County jail under no bond.
