LAURINBURG — Scotland Health’s chief medical officer, Dr. Cheryl Davis, has taken on the title of executive vice president of Medical Affairs.

A native of Robeson County, Davis joined Scotland Health Care System in 2009 as a hospitalist. Prior to this most recent promotion, she served as Scotland Health Care System’s chief medical officer for two years.

Davis is now administratively responsible for integrating clinical systems within the health care system, patient safety and quality of health care. She serves as a liaison between the administration and the medical staff within the health care system. She is a support for the entire medical staff and partner to the current chief of staff, Dr. Steve Lanuti, MD.

Davis has been charged with developing a clinical strategy for population health and ensuring that our patients get value out of their health care dollar.

“Our goal as a system is to get patients to the right place for the right care at the right time. We are committed to transforming our patient experience and having a seamless flow of information between each patient encounter,” she said.
