LAURINBURG —Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church will open its doors tonight for an evening of faith-centered laughter.

The 5th Annual Laugh Yourself to Life Comedy Show, featuring two comedians, door prizes and plenty of Friday night fun, will begin at 6:30 at the church located on 8701 Academy Road.

The first comedian is known as Famous Fannie.

“She’s famous in a sense that she is famous to the church,” said church member Sherry Chance. “She talks about her life in a very comedic way.”

The other stand up comedian, known as Country Mike, comes from Fayetteville.

“He is very country, hence the name Country Mike,” Chance said.

Fletcher Grove requests that attendees donate $5 towards the church’s building fund for a community multi-purpose center.

The church is anticipating a crowd of up to 50 people, and all are welcome — even if Fletcher Grove is not their home church..

“We’re hoping a lot of people want to come out on a Friday night, have some laughs, win a prize or two,” Chance said. “We want people to feel welcome to come and have a good time.”

All attendees are given a ticket upon entering, which could win them one of many door prizes. The drawing for prizes, which includes gift cards, candles, and flower arrangements, will be during the show’s intermission.
